The title of this blog is quote by the late British author Douglas Adams.
I just finished typing my ethics paper on our country’s infant mortality rate. I kind of steered the paper in an odd direction. Like the bleeding heart liberal that I am, I lost focus when I started ranting and rambling about our nation’s lack of universal health care as being one of the major causes of our poor international infant mortality rank. Oh well…I hope it’s an acceptable paper. The teacher is an easy grader, so I'm not that worried.
Anyhow, while I was researching for the paper I stumbled across a new favorite blog http://www.amptoons.com/blog/ ALAS is a great blot that discuses many political and social issues. In reading some of the blogs I found myself nodding my head in total agreement. One blog in particular that discussed the trend of big pharm’s marketing push for menstrual suppression methods/pills really got me riled up; but I’ll let you read it for yourself. http://www.amptoons.com/blog/archives/2006/07/14/i-still-want-my-period/
A lot more has been going on both in my personal and academic life that I would love to blog about, but this is going to be all for now. I have to get back to preparing for a big presentation I’m doing tomorrow.
But first…a few more Douglas Adam’s quotes.
“Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.”
“He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.”
